A poll of 1000 adults taken between 28th-30th March 2008 revelaed that 88% of people did not notice, did not realise, or were not bothered at all by big shops being closed al day on Easter Sunday.
1000 adults aged 16+ were interviewed on the GfK NOP Telebus during the weekend of 20th-22nd July 2007. The survey is designed to be nationally representative of adult profiles throughout the United Kingdom. Below are main key findings from the research.

The 1994 Sunday Trading Act allows shops to be open for six hours on a Sunday. A private members Bill being introduced into the House of Lords is asking to amend the 1994 Sunday Trading Act, by changing opening hours for garden centres from six to eight hours. The Bill also seeks to allow trading on Easter Sunday.
